Mallards (Anas Platyrhynchos)

Our most familiar duck, large and heavy looking, with long body and long and broad bill. Speculum is iridescent purple/blue aedged and white. Male has dark green head, tellow bill, white neck ring, purple brown brest, maily grey body and black curly upper tail feathers.

Tufted Duck (Aythya Fuligula)

Smaller than the Mallard. A Diving duck with short neck rounded head and relatively large, broad bill with broad black tip. Male, glossy black with white flanks,white belly, and drooping crest from back of the head.
